Ontario Conference Adventist Branding FAQ
Why is branding important?
Branding is important because it communicates identity, builds trust, and expresses unity. For the Seventh-day Adventist Church, it is more than logos, colours, or design standards—it is a faithful reflection of who we are and what we believe.
In a crowded digital world, clear and consistent branding conveys credibility and theological coherence. It prevents confusion, protects the integrity of our message, and ensures that what we present visually aligns with what we proclaim spiritually.
How does branding support the church’s mission?
Branding supports the church’s mission by making our unity visible and our witness credible. In John 17:21, Jesus prayed that His followers “may all be one… so that the world may believe.” Unity is missional—when believers are clearly united in purpose and message, they present a trustworthy picture of Christ.
Our Adventist brand expresses that unity across cultures, languages, and ministries. A consistent visual identity shows that whether someone encounters a local church, school, hospital, or online ministry, they are engaging with the same global church, sharing one faith and one mission.
What are the guidelines for using the church’s name and logo?
Churches are encouraged to use the official name and logo of the Seventh-day Adventist Church consistently in all communications. Because the logo and name are trademarked, they must not be altered, and local churches should not create independent logos. Leaders and members are also encouraged to use “Seventh-day Adventist Church” or simply “Adventist,” rather than the abbreviation “SDA.”
This standard applies to signage, website domain names, social media handles, apparel, and all printed or digital materials. Consistent use ensures a unified, professional, and easily recognisable identity across the global church.

Where can I download the official Adventist Church name and logo?
The Communications and Media Ministry Department is committed to helping churches transition to a unified brand by providing tools requested by leaders.
Below are links to two versions of custom logos for every church in Ontario: one with blue text on a transparent background and one with white text on the classic blue background. These logos should be used consistently across all branding—websites, social media, and print materials.
Links are provided for local church logos in English, French, and Spanish. Logos in other languages or customized edits are available upon request at kbailey@adventistontario.org.

How do consistent domain names and social media handles strengthen our digital identity?
Consistent domain names and social media handles make our churches easier to find, recognise, and trust online. A clear, unified format signals that each local congregation is part of one connected Adventist family.
To strengthen our shared digital presence, the Ontario Conference is introducing a standardised domain format for all churches: (ChurchName)Adventist.ca (e.g., www.AjaxAdventist.ca). This approach improves searchability, reinforces brand clarity, and presents a cohesive identity across the Conference.
Similarly, social media handles should follow the same pattern—using @ajaxadventist rather than @ajaxsda. Consistency across websites and platforms reduces confusion, strengthens credibility, and ensures our digital presence clearly reflects who we are.
