Adventist Schools Present the True Reason for the Season
|
|
Adventist schools across the Ontario Conference have geared up for their annual Christmas programs. Every year, these programs retell the timeless story of the miracle of Jesus' birth and how a humble baby in a manger would be our salvation, bridging divinity with humanity.
It is remarkable how each school adds its unique touch to narrate this divine story. Each version reminds us of the true reason for the season. At the same time, participating in passing down this understanding to the next generation is crucial.
The Adventist school system in Ontario is not only a place of education. It serves as a hub where Jesus' message and presence can be felt anew! My heartfelt prayer is that every family can attend one of our schools and watch how our children celebrate Jesus—the ultimate reason for our joy this season!

Tidings of Joy: Hope Vision's Christmas Celebration
|
|
On December 10, Hope Vision Fellowship hosted its annual Christmas celebration. Key figures from the Ontario Conference were in attendance, including Treasurer Virene Meikle; Pastor Andrew King, Director of Compassion Ministries; and Ines Telis, Departmental Secretary. They joined Pastor Theodore Sargeant from Ajax Seventh-day Adventist Church and Bible Instructor Maria McClean. Sister Pat Page and numerous volunteers organized the event, catering to the visually impaired and their families.
Pastor Sargeant led as Master of Ceremonies, with the assistance of Sister Virene, who regularly supports the group. The atmosphere was joyful as attendees feasted on a delicious meal, sang carols, and received presents under the event's theme 'Stuff your Stocking.'
Reflecting on the event, Pastor King expressed his gratitude, highlighting the meaningful impact on everyone present. He thanked Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church and its members for their support in providing space and volunteers who contributed significantly to the event's success.

Celebrating Newly Baptised
Members Across Ontario
|
|
There's nothing quite like the gift of salvation. When we are brought into a new life with Jesus through baptism, a fresh look at life and ministry comes about. Pastor Marcio Gerley de Sousa recently shared with our team that five new members were baptized in the Espaço Novo Tempo Adventist Group. We lift each newly baptized member up in prayer this season and encourage readers in your congregations to remember those who dedicated their lives to Christ this year.

Children's Ministries Bring
Christmas Spirit to Chatham
|
|
The Chatham Seventh-day Adventist Church Children's Ministry organized a singing program at a local nursing home this past Sabbath, December 16. The children and members joined together to sing with senior residents. It was a blessing for everyone involved, both young and old. The residents' faces lit up when visiting with the children. Seeing so many hugs and smiling faces was so nice!

Mississauga Seventh-day Adventist Church Provides Holiday Cheer

On December 17, The Mississauga Seventh-Day Adventist Church hosted a Winter Wonderland Turkey Drive in the church's fellowship hall.
The community was welcomed to a space offering groceries, clothing, refreshments and a comforting atmosphere. The turnout was impressive, highlighting Mississauga's connection with the community.
Participants had various donated clothing items to choose from, including practical winter wear and different personal styles.
The church's provision of groceries was also a significant support to numerous households. Attendees were grateful for the opportunity to fill their pantries, helping to ease their financial burden during these challenging times.
Pastor Cunningham, assistant pastor at Mississauga, remarked, "The Winter Wonderland Turkey Drive represents our church's commitment to community service. We were happy to reflect Jesus by showing kindness and being selfless during a time of year that can be difficult for many.

Toronto Central Youth ‘Healed’
|
|
The Youth Department at the Toronto Central Seventh-day Adventist Church ended the year with a Week of Prayer. The theme was 'Healed,' and the youth presented each message. 'Healed by God's Love' was presented by Jordon Peters-Checkley,' 'Healed by Washing' by Joshua Spence and 'Healing the Hurts of Life' by Benjamin Nicholson were some of the inspiring, uplifting topics.
For the Sabbath divine and afternoon sermons, two powerful messages were presented. 'Healed from Brokenness: Finding Wholeness Through Faith' was presented by Jalia Parkes, and 'Healed from Trauma' was delivered by Jynele Mullings. Both messages clearly outlined different healing aspects and showed how Jesus helps us through the process.
All of the messages in the series were unique. They provided great insight into how we can undergo transformational healing with the help of our amazing Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
