This fall, Richmond Hill Church took the initiative to recognize those who serve our community—including police and the fire department—by gifting them with fruit baskets. One such group was District #2 of the York Regional Police. Their superintendent, Duncan MacIntyre, sent back a photo of the officers and a letter conveying their appreciation. He wrote to Pastor Levterov, “On behalf of the women and men that work out of 2 District York Regional Police in Richmond Hill, I want to thank you and the members of the Richmond Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church for the card and words of support and the magnificent fruit basket. As you can tell from the attached picture, thoughts of kindness such as this bring an extra smile to our day. Thank you again for recognizing our officers and civilian staff.” Richmond Hill Church anticipates that this gesture will help build a bridge between the church and social service agencies and convey their desire and intention to work alongside them for the community's wellbeing.
