St. Thomas Seventh-day Adventist Church Launches Grace Empowered Ministry for Seniors
The inaugural launch of the Grace Empowered Ministry for Seniors (G.EM.S.) on October 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. was a resounding success, marked by an impressive turnout and an atmosphere filled with gratitude and deep spirituality. The church hall, beautifully transformed into a warm and welcoming sanctuary, reflected the dedicated efforts of the St. Thomas Seventh-day Adventist Family Life leaders. Among the distinguished guests was Andrew Lawton, Member of Parliament for Elgin, St. Thomas, and London South, whose presence underscored the community-wide significance of this new ministry.
The program was skillfully steered by Elder Ben Rasool, who served as MC and ensured a smooth, engaging, and uplifting flow throughout the afternoon. A highlight of the event was the inspiring message delivered by guest speaker Pastor Richard Jackson, whose powerful words resonated deeply with the audience. His message offered not only encouragement but also a passionate call for seniors to embrace their later years with vibrancy, purpose, and faith. He reminded everyone that age brings fresh opportunities for continued service, wisdom-sharing, and growth, motivating attendees to remain active and spiritually energized.
Adding to this spirit of empowerment, MP Lawton addressed the gathering, extending warm congratulations to the organizers and presenting a Certificate of Recognition in honour of the ministry’s launch. He commended the seniors for their invaluable contributions to the community and offered heartfelt wishes for their continued fulfillment, vitality, and joy.
The collaborative spirit shown by the supporting district churches and host leaders clearly signifies a strong foundation and a promising future for the Grace Empowered Ministry for Seniors. This launch not only marked the beginning of an important new ministry but also reaffirmed the community's commitment to nurturing and empowering its senior members in an atmosphere of warmth, dignity, and spiritual strength.
