Pastor Ly Encourages the Toronto Chinese Church to Become Ambassadors for Christ
Posted: May 20th, 2026

On Sabbath, May 9, 2026, the Toronto Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church was blessed to welcome Pastor Sereivudh Ly, Ontario Conference Church Planting, Revitalisation, and Evangelism Director, for a special day of worship, personal testimony, and discipleship training centred on the calling to become ambassadors for Christ.
During the divine worship service, Pastor Ly presented a message entitled “The First Ambassador: At the Well,” based on John 4. Reflecting on Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman, he reminded the congregation that Christ is the perfect example of one who crosses barriers, brings healing to the broken, and leads people to salvation.
Pastor Ly also shared a heartfelt personal testimony about how God brought healing through his own experiences with guilt, grief, and grudges. He emphasised the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation: forgiveness is a choice we are called to make regardless of another person’s response, while reconciliation involves restoring a relationship when both parties are willing. Most importantly, he reminded the congregation that reconciliation with God must come first, and from that relationship God entrusts us with the ministry of reconciliation to others.
In the afternoon, Pastor Ly led a practical discipleship training titled “How to Share Jesus Using Your Story.” The training centred on a simple yet powerful truth: while people may debate doctrine, they cannot deny the authenticity of a personal testimony.
Using a clear and practical three-minute approach, participants learned how to:
- Identify a personal struggle involving guilt, grief, or grudges;
- Share how Jesus brought forgiveness, healing, and freedom;
- Explain the gospel in four simple steps;
- Invite others to respond to Christ.
The training also emphasised that God never wastes our painful experiences. When we are reconciled to Christ, our stories can become powerful instruments of hope, healing, and encouragement for others.
Many members participated enthusiastically by taking notes, practising their testimonies, and asking thoughtful questions throughout the session. The training was warmly received and provided practical, biblical tools that members can begin using immediately in their personal witness and outreach.
May the Lord continue preparing us in these last days to serve as His ambassadors, faithfully using our own stories to point others to Jesus and His saving grace.
