New Leaders Ordained at Waterloo Region Fil-Can Adventist Church
Posted: April 8th, 2026

On March 28, 2026, the Waterloo Region Filipino-Canadian Seventh-day Adventist Church witnessed a sacred, Spirit-filled milestone as new elders, deacons, and deaconesses were solemnly ordained for service. The sanctuary was filled with reverence and gratitude as Pastor Raul Gonzales, Associate Ministerial Secretary of the Ontario Conference, and his family led the congregation in this meaningful ceremony, affirming God’s ongoing work through His people.
Centred on the theme “Called to Serve,” the message resonated deeply, reminding all present that leadership in God’s church is not a position of honour, but a calling to humble, faithful service. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:10—“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God”—the newly ordained were charged to steward their spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.
With hands laid upon them in prayer and hearts surrendered, the candidates knelt in consecration—symbolising their full dependence on God’s grace. It was a powerful moment of unity, commitment, and divine commissioning.
As Ellen G. White writes, “Those who are called of God to labour in word and doctrine should be men of faith, men who are daily learning of Christ” (Gospel Workers, p. 16). This sacred responsibility now rests upon these leaders as they step forward in faith.
More than a ceremony, this ordination marked a divine calling and a renewed commitment to serve Christ and His church with unwavering devotion. It
stands as a pivotal moment in the life of the congregation, underscoring the enduring importance of service, faith, and community in advancing God's mission.
