Downsview Adventist Children’s Ministry Celebrates Seven Baptisms
November 27, 2025 | Communications | Downsview Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Children’s Ministry (CM) Department of the Downsview Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated a joyful spiritual harvest as their week-long evangelistic series, themed “Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace,” culminated in the baptism of seven precious souls. Held from October 25 to November 1, 2025, the series served as a powerful reminder that children, too, can hear, understand, and wholeheartedly respond to the gospel call.
The series was carefully designed to present profound biblical truths in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Each message emphasised salvation, grace, and discipleship, ensuring these essential concepts resonated deeply with the children. Every evening overflowed with life—interactive Bible stories, lively songs, and creative object lessons—all illustrating how a personal relationship with Jesus provides a solid foundation for life, the very essence of being "Rooted in Faith."
The atmosphere throughout the week was vibrant with excitement and spiritual anticipation. Children from the church family and the surrounding community gathered eagerly each night, inspired by the dedicated CM leaders and volunteers. These leaders modelled Christ’s method of ministry—mingling with the children, showing genuine care, meeting their needs, and building trust before inviting them to follow Jesus.
The nightly programs reinforced a central truth: accepting Jesus marks the start of a lifelong journey of transformation, or “Growing in Grace.” Practical topics helped the children understand how to live out their faith daily, highlighting the importance of prayer, Bible study, service, and sharing the love of Christ with others.
This powerful week of spiritual nurture was more than just sharing information; it was about making a decision for Christ. The combined impact of the gospel message, delivered sincerely and lovingly, yielded results. On the final Sabbath, the church experienced a heartwarming moment as seven young people publicly declared their commitment to Jesus through baptism.
The sight of these young believers being baptised was a moving moment for the entire congregation, reaffirming the vital importance of investing in children's evangelism. These baptisms represent not just new members, but a new generation of disciples equipped to be powerful witnesses. As Scripture states, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV).
The Downsview Adventist Church rejoices over these seven new young soldiers in the army of God and renews its commitment to nurturing their ongoing spiritual growth—ensuring they remain firmly rooted in faith and continue to grow in the grace of Jesus Christ.
