Celebrating the Installation of Pastor Peter Gordon
November 27, 2025 | Anthony Reid | Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
On November 8 and 15, 2026, Pastor Peter Gordon was officially installed as the new lead pastor for the Chatham, Leamington, and Living Faith churches. The congregations warmly welcomed Pastor Gordon and his family with enthusiasm, joy, and hopeful anticipation.
Pastor Gordon brings more than 20 years of pastoral experience, having served in the West Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists within the Jamaica Union. He is deeply passionate about evangelism, church growth, youth discipleship, mentorship, leadership development, and pastoral care.
His ministerial training includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Caribbean University (2003); a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology from the Inter-American Adventist Theological Seminary (2019); and a Master of Divinity from Andrews University (2025) with a focus on chaplaincy. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University.
In his inaugural sermon, titled “Hineni,” Pastor Gordon reflected on Exodus 3:1–4. He emphasised that before God could use Moses to accomplish great things, Moses first had to be willing and available. When God called him, Moses responded, “Hineni”—“Here I am.” This declaration signified more than presence; it expressed readiness, openness, and total willingness to serve. Pastor Gordon connected this biblical example to his own calling, affirming his readiness to serve God, the church, and the mission of Christ. He ended his message with an appeal for both leaders and members to offer themselves in service to God and to one another. In a powerful moment of unity, the entire congregation responded together, “Hineni—Here I am. I am available, Lord!”
Outside of ministry, Pastor Gordon enjoys playing football (soccer) and spending quality time with his family.
Pastor Gordon and his wife, Angelee, have been married for twenty years and are the proud parents of two sons, Peter and Andrew—both first-year students at Andrews University, pursuing degrees in architecture and biology, respectively. Angelee, an elementary school educator with twenty-six years of experience, actively supports her husband’s ministry. She finds joy in serving others and delights in preparing nutritious vegan meals.
Let us continue to pray that God will strengthen and empower these congregations as they faithfully work under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to fulfil the mission of Christ and His Church.
