Paradise Health, a non-profit health and wellness clinic, officially opened its doors to the public on Sunday, July 16. The clinic, located in Newmarket, offers a range of services aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. During the grand opening, General Manager Alain Mugishia provided tours of the clinic's modern facilities.

"What we do here is lifestyle medicine. Everything is founded on evidenced-based scientific research." Alain remarked. The clinic offers various health services, including psychotherapy, naturopathic medicine, hydrotherapy, nutrition, fitness assessments, and massage therapy.

The establishment of Paradise Health has been a long-term project, evolving from the vision of Elder Mario Roque, who initially founded Paradise Fields farm in Hamilton, Ontario. The farm focused on organic farming and promoting health and wellness. Over time, the vision expanded to include a local wellness clinic, which grew to become the clinic in Newmarket.

Initially supported by a local congregation, the Ontario Conference recognized the clinic’s value to the community as a center of influence and has provided additional funding. Following Ontario’s lead, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has also provided funding for the project. Ontario President Jakov Bibulović stated, "The health message has always been an important part of the Adventist Church in reaching the world with the Gospel. The Ontario Conference is pleased to fund such a groundbreaking initiative, and I pray this ministry will not only improve the health of many but also draw people closer to Jesus." Alan echoed this sentiment, mentioning that Paradise Health is also a church plant with plans to train laypeople as medical missionaries.

In addition to medical services, Paradise Health offers a variety of programs, including plant-based cooking classes and "One Month in Paradise," a 30-day weight loss program led by an interdisciplinary team.
