Camp meetings are special occasions for fellowship, revival, and spiritual renewal. They also offer meaningful outreach opportunities for church members to invite friends, family, and others who are searching for hope. In these warm and inviting environments, many people encounter the gospel for the first time—and their lives are changed.
Ellen G. White highlighted the unique evangelistic impact of these gatherings when she wrote:
“The camp meeting is one of the most important agencies in our work. It is one of the most effective methods of arresting the attention of the people and reaching all classes with the gospel.” — Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 31
Camp meetings are also places of learning and growth. She described them as a training ground where ordinary members are equipped for effective service:
“The camp meeting is a school where workers may receive instruction in practical methods of labour.” — Evangelism, p. 68
In 2026, the Ontario Conference will transition from a single large camp meeting to a network of regional and ethnic gatherings focused on discipleship. These smaller, more accessible settings are designed to deepen relationships, strengthen community, and equip believers for mission within their local context.
Camp meetings strengthen both heart and hands—reviving spiritual life while preparing members for service. All are encouraged to participate in and support their regional gathering. As we meet across the province, may each location become a place of renewal, connection, and intentional discipleship.
