A Call to Compassion: Ontario Conference Launches Permanent Disaster Response Account

The Ontario Conference Administration wishes to thank everyone who has responded generously to the call to support the relief efforts following the catastrophic events in the Caribbean. Your ongoing support and kindness make a meaningful difference in helping families rebuild their lives and regain hope after such devastating loss. Once reports from churches are ready in December, a consolidated report will be shared on the Ontario Conference News (OCN) and on our AdventistOntario.org website.

As we enter December, the Conference Administration invites you to support the Filipino Disaster Response initiative. Like those in the Caribbean, our brothers and sisters in the Philippines are also facing serious challenges in the aftermath of recent disasters.

The storm caused widespread destruction—flattened homes, flooded communities, displaced families, and significant damage to roads, communication lines, and local infrastructure. Many communities remain without stable access to clean water, electricity, and essential supplies. Thousands of families are struggling to recover as they navigate loss, uncertainty, and the long process of rebuilding.

Your contributions will help provide urgent assistance where it is most needed. Every donation—big or small—makes a meaningful difference in restoring lives and communities.

As we await Jesus’ soon return, we are all aware that disasters around the world are becoming more frequent and severe. As a community of faith, we recognise that compassion is part of our calling. Many are seeking a simple, consistent way to respond whenever disaster strikes—without waiting for a special appeal each time.

Moving forward, the Ontario Conference is establishing a permanent Disaster Response Account.

This special account allows members to give at any time, as the Holy Spirit moves their hearts. When a catastrophic disaster occurs—whether locally or globally—the funds already available will be used to respond quickly and effectively.

Your donations will be channelled through ADRA or other denominational agencies that are already on the ground, providing relief and helping communities rebuild.

Together, we can be a steady source of hope in moments of crisis. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your willingness to stand with those who are suffering.
