When Children Lead, God Shows Up
Posted: May 13th, 2026

Six evenings. Six young messengers. One message that never changes.
From May 3–8, 2026, the Cambridge Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted its Children’s Week of Prayer under the theme “The Bible – God’s Word to Me.” What unfolded over those six nights was a powerful reminder that God’s Word does not need impressive credentials to do its work. It needs willing hearts—and it found plenty of them.
Each evening included interactive elements designed to reinforce the message. The B.I.B.L.E. theme song was woven into the program, alongside a Kahoot! review of the previous night’s lesson. Children were also given simple, Bible-based challenges to complete between sessions, helping them carry what they learned into the next day.
A Visitor Challenge also ran throughout the week, encouraging children to invite others to attend. While a simple point system led to a Bible prize, the greater impact was seen in children stepping out to invite others to hear God’s Word.
On Night One, Aiden Chivero opened the week with All About God’s Word, unpacking how prophecy—guided by the Holy Spirit, not human ideas—produced a book unlike any other.
On Night Two, Prosper Omal presented God’s Word Gives Me Hope, anchored in the story of the widow of Zarephath—a woman who gave her last and found it multiplied. The message resonated with anyone who has ever prayed over an empty pantry.
On Night Three, Josiah Chambers shared God’s Word is My Guide, drawing a vivid parallel between a dolphin’s echolocation and the way God’s Word orients us when life feels dark and uncertain.
Night Four, Promise Achilo presented God’s Word is Different from Other Books, highlighting Scripture’s uniqueness—supported by fulfilled prophecy and the powerful story of a soldier whose New Testament stopped a bullet.
On Night Five, Michelle Chivero spoke on God’s Word Helps Me Grow, reminding listeners that even one verse planted in a willing heart can shape how we respond to anger, fear, and temptation.
The week closed with Precious Mark presenting God’s Word Gives Me a Picture of Jesus, a message that challenged us not to read Scripture for information alone, but to encounter the Person to whom every page points.
The Visitor Challenge produced something remarkable. More than 14 unique visitors joined across the six nights, drawn by the personal invitation of a young person. At the close of the week, Bibles were awarded to Promise Achilo and Precious Mark for their outstanding outreach, and to the Snider family, who brought their visitors in person on Sabbath—a beautiful reminder that what begins online can overflow into real life.
These young people did not simply deliver programs. They testified.
One message in particular captured the spirit of the week:
“So how do you find your way when you’re not sure what to do? You listen for the right guidance. Just like a dolphin doesn’t rely on what it can see… it trusts the signal that guides it. And we have a signal too—God’s Word.”
And that is exactly what our children did this week—they listened, they trusted, and they led.
