Windsor Adventist Church Honours Women Who Nurture and Care
Posted: March 18th, 2026

As the world celebrated International Women’s Day, the Windsor Seventh-day Adventist Church also observed the International Day of Prayer for Women on Sabbath, March 7, 2026. During the worship service, Brenda Bhanks, head of the Family Ministries Department, delivered a heartfelt message titled “Do No Harm.” In her message, she reminded the congregation that the church is called to reflect the character of heaven—a place where there will be no harm. She encouraged believers to intentionally cultivate a community where kindness, care, and compassion prevail.
Toward the close of her inspiring message, a special moment of appreciation and recognition took place. Five outstanding women from the Windsor church family were honoured for their faithful service in nurturing others and for helping to create a safe and supportive environment for the vulnerable, both within the church and in the wider community.
The 2026 Nurturer’s Award was presented to Anne Kukucka, Gloria Joshua, Christine Uwamahoro, Alice Murebwayire, and Claudine Kayumba.
Recipients of the 2025 Nurturer’s Award—Melma Orzame, Miriam Glenn, Dolly Tan, Phyllis, and Ruby Chand—had the privilege of assisting Brenda Bhanks in pinning this year’s honourees with their awards.
The Windsor church family expresses deep gratitude for these women, whose dedication, compassion, and nurturing spirit continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
May God richly bless them for their faithful service and their unwavering commitment to caring for others.
