A Heartfelt Tribute to Eveline Manigat
November 6, 2025 | Edwin Martin | Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Ontario Conference mourns the passing of Master Guide (MG) Eveline Manigat, beloved wife of Pastor Josue Manigat, who faithfully served the French Adventist churches in Toronto and Ottawa. Eveline was a devoted servant of God, a faithful leader, and a cherished member of the Ontario Conference Adventurer Council (OCAC) Executive Committee for many years.
MG Mitsie Howe, the OCAC Executive Coordinator, who served alongside Eveline for 17 years, remembers her as a dedicated Adventurer coordinator whose gentle spirit and unwavering love for children touched countless lives. “Eveline served with grace, compassion, and excellence—always ready to help, always smiling, and always inspiring others to give their best for God,” MG Howe reflects. “Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of faith and service continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched.”
Martine Charles, Adventurer coordinator for Eastern Ontario, also shares her deep sorrow at the passing of her beloved sister, mentor, and friend. “For over 20 years, Eveline has been a pillar of wisdom, strength, and joy in my life,” Martine says. “She took me under her wings and poured into me not only her leadership experience, but her heart, her faith, and her unwavering love for God and His children.”
Martine recalls, “When I stepped into my role as an Adventurer coordinator, MG Eveline was there cheering me on, pushing me to grow, and reminding me that God equips those He calls. She supported me in every ministry, celebrated every success, and guided me through every challenge. Her passion for Adventurers and her joy in serving were contagious. She modeled Christ-like leadership, always encouraging, always uplifting, always reminding us that ministry is, above all, an act of love.”
MG Ann Marie Green, a fellow Adventurer coordinator, also shares her grief: “I'm heartbroken right now. Words cannot express what I’m feeling. The last time I spoke to Sister Eveline, I was encouraging her - but she turned around and began encouraging me to hold on to God's promises. That was the kind of person she was. My sincere condolences to her family.”
MG Madge Jackson fondly remembers Eveline’s kindness and helpful spirit at the 2025 Adventurer Brave Camporee last summer. “She was such a warm and friendly person,” MG Jackson recalls. “During camporee, she came to the tuck shop and said to me, ‘Sister Madge, I will help you,’ and immediately began assisting me. I will truly miss her lovely smile.”
“Sister Eveline was a humble Christian leader, says MG Velma Morgan, who served as OCAC Executive Coordinator for 34 years. “Words cannot express how much I appreciate the many years of humble Christ-like leadership she demonstrated in the Adventurer Ministry. She touched the lives of many children and their parents, leaving a legacy of love that will forever shine in my heart. Her life was truly a blessing, and I will always treasure the precious memories of Sister Eveline.”
Eveline Manigat’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith—marked by humility, service, compassion, and love for others. Her legacy will continue to inspire Adventurer leaders, families, and children across Ontario for generations to come.
As we mourn her passing, we also look forward in hope to that glorious resurrection morning when we will see her again. Together with the bereaved family, we echo the prayer of our hearts: “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
