Ontario Conference Introduces New Tithe and Offering Envelopes
|
|
The Ontario Conference is happy to announce that, after many years, the tithe and offering envelopes have been redesigned. These three beautiful designs were prayerfully considered to enhance the experience of giving as an act of worship and to reflect the strategic focus of our conference. It is our prayer that this will inspire and encourage faithful stewardship through our worship, witness, well-being, and wealth through tithes and offerings.

|
|
Above is the inside of the envelope. At the top of the left inside panel, you will find the QR code that takes you to the Conference’s strategic plan. The plan is summarized on the front of the envelope.
Below the QR code is the explanation of the tithe and various offerings. Each option corresponds with the allocation on the right panel or page.
The main reason for the update of the tithe envelope is to align it with the strategic vision and plans of the Ontario Conference. The information below explains the four major areas for contributions:
1. Tithe (10%) – to support the gospel ministry and education in Ontario Conference and the world church.
2. Local Church Budget Offerings (3-5%) – to support the local church mission, ministry and physical plant, e.g. church utilities, personal ministries, building fund, Sabbath School, local evangelism, school subsidy, worthy student, etc.
3. Local Conference Offerings (1-2%) – to support ministries of the Ontario Conference that cannot be funded from tithe and affect every member in church and schools in Ontario.
4. World Budget Offerings (2-3%) – to enhance and expand the missionary outreach of the world church, e.g. 13th Sabbath offering, Birthday/Thank Offering, Annual Sacrifice, 10/40 Window, etc.

The back panel shares information about Stewardship Ministries and Planned Giving and Trust Services. Members can use this information to get in touch with us regarding their stewardship and estate planning needs if they so desire.
You will also find two QR codes. The first will take you directly to the AdventistGiving website for quick and easy online giving, and the second will reveal how your tithe dollars are allocated.

These new envelopes remind us of the privilege we have to give God thanks through our faithful tithes and offerings as well as our time, talents and temples. The decisions we make to advance God’s Kingdom during our lifetime are important in determining our legacy. Planning for the future allows these biblical principles of stewardship to continue beyond our lives.
Thank you in advance for your faithfulness and commitment to the Lord’s work. We hope and pray that this new envelope will be a blessing as we partner to advance God’s Kingdom here in Ontario. If you have any questions or want more information regarding the new envelope, please contact the office office at 905-571-1022, extension 224, or email gpitt@adventitstontario.org.
Church leaders, when your supply of old envelopes is about to run out, please order the new tithe envelopes from Kathia Viana at extension 307.

Chinese New Year starts with Worship and Celebration
|
|
February 10 was the beginning of the Chinese New Year and a special celebratory service was held at the Toronto Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church. Numerous guests were in attendance and the invited College Park String Ensemble brought a special atmosphere to the worship. The highlight of the service was the baptism of four individuals. Afterwards, members and visitors gathered for a potluck feast, celebrating God’s goodness and their cultural heritage.

Crisis Line Launched to
Support Women
|
|
The Apple Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church Women’s Ministry unveiled a crisis line for the community on February 3 at a special evening service. The mission is to provide support to women facing emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges while equipping them to not only navigate their own difficulties but also to reach out and minister to others.
The vision for the crisis line was born out of COVID with emotional distress on the rise and an increasing need for women in the community to connect to a service that is easily accessible. Through prayer, fasting, and a firm belief that God would guide their efforts, the Women's ministry team set to work. After meticulous planning and discussions, the proposal for the crisis line was approved by the Apple Creek Church Board and the Ontario Risk Management Department. The project was considered so important that the North American Division provided money to support the initiative.
While the primary goal of the crisis line is to provide a confidential, safe listening ear and compassionate guidance, it also serves as a platform to share the message of Christ and inform women about the various resources and services available through the Apple Creek Church community.
Staffed by trained female professionals, the crisis line offers a safe, confidential space for women to seek assistance and direction. While the crisis line does not provide counselling services, callers are directed with empathy and care to the most appropriate resources based on their individual needs.
If you or someone you know might benefit from the Apple Creek Crisis Line, please download this flyer or call one of the following numbers below between 9:30am-11:30am. Our team is standing by.

Partnering for Eternity
Launches at Crawford
|
|
Crawford Adventist Academy has been provided with an amazing opportunity to be a part of the Partnering for Eternity (PFE) program. PFE has been helping cultivate relationships between senior mentors and students at Seventh-day Adventist academies since 2006. The program is currently running in over 150 academies in the USA. PFE will now launch in Canada with Crawford Adventist Academy being the first to participate in the program on this side of the border.
Designed to ease senior isolation, the goal of the Partnering for Eternity Scholarship program is for students and senior mentors to establish and foster intergenerational relationships and to experience the benefits of a lifestyle of service. In the process, students receive scholarship for their tuition and mentors receive the gift of companionship, friendship and the opportunity to pass their knowledge and skills to the younger generation to make an impact that will last for years to come.
The SFCCC Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Nashville, TN, will provide 70% of the total PFE scholarship funding per academic year. The remaining 30% of the funds must be fundraised by the academy. High School students participating in the program will receive $800.00 per semester in scholarships to offset the cost of their educational experience at CAA. Our audacious goal is to raise $24,000.00 in order to soft launch this program in our High School division immediately, with goals of expansion to all our campus locations.
You can partner with us in various ways. Become a senior mentor, refer a senior mentor and/or give today to help launch and establish Partnering for Eternity at Crawford Adventist Academy for many years to come.
