Creation Care or Crying Wolf?

The howls of wolves were unmistakable. The moon was full, and the pack was on the prowl. Inside a sparsely furnished cabin, a small group of researchers huddled anxiously in a corner. Strangely, they weren’t at all concerned about the hunt outside. Instead, they were focused on a computer screen displaying results from years of painstaking research. The story told by the graphs and statistics was as riveting as the howls that pierced the night air.

Wings of Hope Dedicates Aircraft for Humanitarian Service Among Canada's First Nations Communities

Report from The Aero Experience

Wings of Hope, the humanitarian, non-profit aviation charity based at Spirit of St. Louis Airport, is preparing a special aircraft for service in the First Nations communities of Ontario, Canada. It stands out among the others in the Wings of Hope hangar for being taller than the rest - this Cessna 185 Skywagon is on floats. Some areas of Canada may be better accessed from a seaplane base, though the aircraft can also be fitted with conventional landing gear (wheels or skis) for flights into airstrips closer to the local communities. The flexibility and ruggedness of the aircraft will make it a great asset to its new operator, Adventist World Aviation. The Skywagon has been thoroughly inspected and updated since arriving from a donor in Denver, CO, and the aircraft will be ready for delivery later this month.

Dedication Ceremony for Aircraft Serving Northern Ontario

Nearly two years ago, Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church partnered with Adventist World Aviation (AWA) to secure an aircraft to enhance their mission to remote Indigenous communities. Now, after a year of meticulous maintenance and modifications at Wings of Hope in St. Louis, Missouri, AWA is very excited to introduce the addition of this aircraft—a Cessna 185 on amphibious floats—to our fleet for service in Northern Ontario!

North American Division Responds to False Claim, Inaccurate Statements on Lay-Operated Website

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America addresses inaccurate statements appearing online

The leadership of the North American Division values all its members and appreciates the various views they hold on the issues that face our church. We desire to serve all our members and recognize that from time to time there may be differences of opinion, but these should not serve to keep us from our united commitment to the biblical beliefs and global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We will always follow His call for each of us to become engaged in His mission to reach everyone with the Hope and Wholeness that can only be found in a committed relationship with Him.

Work Together, and Be Not Deterred

Daniel R. Jackson, NAD president, emphasizes working together to fulfill the mission of the Church.

“We are all co-workers together with God,” remarked Daniel R. Jackson, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, as he paraphrased 1 Corinthians 3:9 at the start of his annual report at the first business session of the 2018 North American Division (NAD) Year-End Meeting (YEM).

“I have a very strong belief. It’s a belief that we haven’t always emphasized what we ought to as Seventh-day Adventists,” Jackson said. “It is this: At the very moment you accept Jesus as your personal Savior, you become a minister of the gospel.”
