Women In Mission

Minimize
To train, equip and mentor women to spread God’s love

The Women In Mission committee is an active group of volunteers led by Donna Jackson, Women's Ministries Director, that are on fire for God! In the past, the Women In Mission committee has coordinated women's retreats, church functions, training seminars and more. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month in Toronto and include planning, budgeting and lots of friendship and support.

Long Distance? Much of our communication is online, either by email or through the website. We can add you to our email list for future correspondence.

Share Our Scripture! (SOS)

  • Training in women’s small group bible studies
  • Coaches training in the use of powerful questions
  • A matching subsidy (up to $100 per church) for purchasing resources to be used in women’s bible study small groups

Creative Healing

To address the pervasive damage caused by abuse, we recommend that every church become a safe refuge for comfort and healing by:
  • Keeping a supply of abuse awareness literature available and on display such as Breaking the Silence pamphlets (Ontario Conference to mail out a set to every church; can also be purchased from ABC).
  • Where possible, designating a trained abuse support worker in every church to assist those affected by abuse seek appropriate help.
  • Posting local community agencies and women’s shelter’s contacts in a safe place in each church i.e. washrooms.
The Ontario Conference Women’s Ministries Department is offering:
  • Ontario Adventist Seminar Presenters booklet with index; provides you with names and contact information for presenters with expertise on various “healing” topics
  • DVD and video lending resources such as the Depression Recovery Program, Grief Share, Divorce Care & Divorce Care 4 Kids, A Hunger for Healing and more.
