Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will soon say goodbye to a valued member of its family—Pastor David Schwinghammer, executive secretary and vice president for administration. He has accepted a call to become Oregon Conference’s next executive secretary/vice president for administration, replacing Pastor Dave Allen, who is retiring.
Schwinghammer has faithfully served Ontario Conference in various capacities as executive secretary, stewardship and worship director. He also pastored at different churches, including College Park, New Life and St. Catherine’s/Niagara Falls. Thus, his parting is bittersweet.
Says Pastor Edwards, Ontario Conference president, “For the past nine years, I have had the privilege of working with Pastor Dave as a fellow administrator. His dedication, creativity and willingness to serve have helped usher Ontario Conference into a new era of support for strategic thinking and planning. Dave's contributions as a leader and friend will be greatly missed. I wish him only the best for the future."
Schwinghammer will begin his new post effective July 1, 2018. He will later be joined by his wife, Ingrid, who has worked at ADRA Canada for 13+ years; their daughter, Albany, a student at Andrews University; and son, Justin, an academy student.
“It’s hard to believe that God has allowed us the privilege of serving in the Ontario Conference for over 22 years. My family and I have been blessed to part of such a dynamic conference with a heart to grow God’s kingdom here in Ontario,” Schwinghammer reflects.
“We will never say goodbye to our Ontario Conference family, but rather until we all meet again. Someday soon, we will never part again. Thank you to all my family, friends and colleagues in ministry for an amazing journey. May God continue to richly bless you all.”
Pastor Dave, we thank you for sharing your gifts in music, administration and preaching over the years. We wish you much success as you continue your ministerial journey.
