It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Don Donesky on Friday, October 20 at his home in Milford Bay. He was 97.

Pastor Mansfield Edwards, Ontario Conference president, shared his deep condolences for Donesky’s passing, saying, “His many years of ministry here in Ontario are deeply appreciated and will be long remembered. May God comfort the family with the comfort that only He can give.”

A funeral service was held Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the Bracebridge Church. Roughly 100 people attended the service and 50 attended the post-service luncheon following the internment. The majority of attendees were friends and neighbours, speaking to Donesky’s strong level of community engagement.

“He was a really well-loved man and he obviously loved people. Everything went super well,” said attendee Marion Stanley, wife of Pastor Carter Stanley and communications director for the Bracebridge Church.

He is survived by his wife Jean and adult children—one daughter and three sons. Please remember them in your prayers.

Pastor Dave Schwinghammer, Ontario Conference executive secretary, also attended and participated in the program. He stated, “Another soldier of the cross has been laid to rest. The funeral service was a celebration of Pastor Donesky’s life, ministry and commitment to the Lord. Our thoughts and prayers continue for his family.”

We encourage pastors and members in the area to support and be present for the Donesky family. Thank you so much for your support at this time.
