On Sunday, September 24, 2017, the Ontario Conference Board of Directors appointed Halsey Peat and Donald McIntyre to positions left unfilled at the Conference’s constituency meeting. Halsey Peat was re-appointed as assistant to the president, with responsibilities for strategic planning. President Mansfield Edwards stated, “Because we have developed that culture of strategic planning here, we need to roll it out to churches and get them engaged.” Peat, former Communication director, will also continue with religious liberty. Donald McIntyre was asked to continue as Superintendent of Schools for 2017-2018 after Lisa Clarke, who was voted in at session, declined the role. McIntyre has been serving in this position since 2013. Between sessions, the board is responsible for the on-going business and governance of the church.
