Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America Issues Statement Emphasizing Importance of Equality for all Americans

The Statue of Liberty, a longstanding symbol of freedom in the U.S., has these words engraved on its base: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, … Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Some today, however, are questioning the presence of those on our shores who come from countries currently facing political, economic, and natural disaster challenges.

Senator Floyd Morris, the first blind senator of Jamaica, will be the special guest speaker for Hope Vision Fellowship’s anniversary program on Saturday, November 18, beginning at 10:30 a.m. This church is the first congregation for visually impaired individuals in the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD) and will mark its anniversary with a full day of worship and praise at 24 Nelson Road, Scarborough, ON.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Don Donesky on Friday, October 20 at his home in Milford Bay. He was 97.
